Love Stryper I grew up listening to Barren cross, Guardian, Whitecross, Messiah Prophet, Petra, Bride, Zion I found a couple of new bands like Theocracy, ya gotta listen to Evergrace now they have changed their name to Incrave they are awesome. It’s funny because when I first became a Christian in the mid 80’s I was told and believed that “Christian Rock” was evil. I was quite outspoken about it too. ( All zeal. No knowledge) But in my teens, I went through quite a rebellious stage and God used my youth leaders to introduce me to Petra, Stryper, and Whitecross. God used those bands to win me back to Himself and I am forever thankful for those bands and their commitment to the I have two titles Mom and Auntie and I rock them both shirt. My life has never been the same. Christian hard rock is still my preferred genera of music though I listen to a lot of different genres.

I knew about bands like Amy Grant, MWS, and Petra when I was a kid in 80’s. DCTalk, audio A, and newsboys became a big deal to me in the early 90’s as I was becoming a teenager. But 94 was the year my Christian music eyes were opened to just how much there was out there! I am still trying to this day learning and listening to stuff I missed along the I have two titles Mom and Auntie and I rock them both shirt! So I’m definitely not new. I volunteered at and was a part of a local Dallas radio show for a good 10 plus years. Those were the days

I listened to some in the 80s but was mostly into secular music. I started listening to Stryper again in the late 90s, To Hell with the Devil was the only Christian rock cd I owned at the time and then I bought In God We Trust. Got saved in early 2000 and since then all I listen to is Christian rock. In 1987 I got a tape, this means war from Petra. Since then I listen to rock. The same year I also got To hell with the devil from Stryper, and since that time I listen to all kinds of rock and Metal. Around the same time the (early 80s), a friend gave me a copy of Steve Taylor’s Meltdown and I subscribed to Campus Life magazine, which was giving away Petra’s Not of this World with each subscription.
