I think it wasn’t about neglect. But rather just keep a little distance for them to have room to grow. As a mom I sometimes try my hardest not to give what my children want. Only because I need Nintendo keep it classic shirt to learn and experience disappointment in life. That they can not have everything in life. But I make sure I provide what rhey really need. That includes emotional support. We as parent have to define if it is what they need or what they want. That’s where I define my distance so they learn. Because they need to fly on their own one day. That we need to equip them for that. But more than that I am always there for the most important part of growth in their life.
