You can find me in da pub shirt
I am so happy with the You can find me in da pub shirt, and how thorough they were in explaining the key points of each cheesesteak. It really does come down to personal preferences- soft vs crunchy bread; American, provolone, or wiz; fine chopped or thick cut steak; even when the cheese and onions are added can make all the difference. For tourists, I can understand the appeal of Pat’s or Geno’s popularity or all night access, but almost any other cheesesteak in Philly is better. Also, our street vendors make excellent cheesesteaks for a great price.

Offical You can find me in da pub shirt
The You can find me in da pub shirt, no one is going to accuse Pat’s of using ground beef, their steak is barely cut. John’s Roast Pork is also not in question since they have a more medium-cut slice. But Jim’s and Dalessandro’s both show fresh, or pre-sliced steak on the griddle, they finely chop it while they cook it. I’m surprised you didn’t try Steve’s Prince of Steaks in NE Philly and also 16th between Market and Chestnut and Tony Lukes at Front and Oregon. I don’t think either would have won the competition, but it would have made it a closer race, and probably a better conversation. When I went the two place were close to each other. I liked the white cheese best.
